Sew Cloth Shopping Bags

If you have a sewing machine you can sew up some shopping bags easily. Use any fabric you have lying around or get some at a garage sale. If you go to GoodWill, etc. look for old drapes. They are usually cheap, & the fabric is strong enough to hold canned goods, etc. A drapery panel costs about $3 & will give you enough fabric to make several bags--& they will match! lol

You can just sew together 2 large rectangles for the bag & then add handles. Here are instructions for making padded handles. I'd make them longer than shown.

PS This wold make a good project for your teens & pre-teens to try too. They could even made some money selling them maybe. Or they could be gifts to family & friends. They could be beach bags or purses too.
